DIY or Hire? SEO Scorer

Eight questions, an honest answer. It can and does tell you to do it yourself, and to hire nobody at all.

01Realistically, how many hours a month can you give this? The number that survives a bad month, not a good one.
02Does the payback math work at agency prices? From module 1: monthly gross profit from the lift, against the monthly fee.
03How many pages does your site have?
04Can you edit your own site?Titles, redirects, templates, publishing, without filing a ticket.
05When do you need results?
06What does the work mainly involve?
07Does anyone else need to see this measured?A board, a lender, an investor, a buyer.
08What is actually stopping you right now?

Recommendation

Answer all eight and this fills in. It is not scored to sell you anything: two answers override the result and send you away.

Why this tool can tell you not to hire us

We sell SEO. A tool on our site that scores whether you should buy SEO is exactly the kind of thing you should be suspicious of, so here is how it is built.

Two of the eight answers act as hard gates. If you say the payback math does not work at agency prices, or that your constraint is knowledge rather than hours on a site under fifty pages, the tool recommends doing it yourself and ignores everything else you answered. There is no combination of the other six questions that overrides those.

A third gate sends you away entirely: if you need results inside ninety days, it tells you SEO is the wrong channel for that deadline and suggests ads instead, because hiring an agency does not shorten how long Google takes.

Where the questions come from

The payback question is module 1. The site-size threshold is the same one that decides whether on-page work is writing or data management, from module 5. The link building answer is weighted heavily because outreach is the one part of SEO that does not compress with skill, which is module 11. And the vetting comes from module 15, which is built from Google’s own published guidance rather than ours.
