Free Templates

Free SEO Templates that end in a decision

Every template here is a working spreadsheet, not a PDF of advice. They score what you put into them, rank the output, and tell you what to do first — because a list of findings is not a plan, and neither is a calendar of blog titles.

  • Google Sheets and Excel
  • Formulas that work in both
  • Free for client work

Built to be used, not skimmed

Most free templates are a formatted table with the headings filled in. These do arithmetic on what you enter, and they have opinions about what the answer means.

  • They score, they do not just collect. Every template weights what you put in and ranks the output, so the top of the list is genuinely where to start rather than wherever you happened to type first.
  • They flag their own failure modes. Two pages chasing one keyword, a pillar with nothing to buy from, a draft three weeks overdue — the sheet tells you before it costs you.
  • They work in whatever you already use. Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers. No dynamic-array formulas, no add-ons, no paid platform behind any step.
  • They are yours. Use them on your own sites and on client work, rebrand them, charge for the work. We only ask that you do not resell the template itself.

About the templates

Are these SEO templates really free?

Yes. Every template on this page is a free download — enter your name and email and the file unlocks immediately, with a copy sent to your inbox as a backup. There is no trial, no card, and no drip sequence.

What format are the templates in?

Excel workbooks that open natively in Google Sheets, Excel and Numbers. Every formula was written to work in all three — no dynamic arrays, no Excel-only functions — so the scoring behaves the same wherever you open it. Make a copy and it is yours to edit and rename.

Can I use these templates for client work?

Yes. Use them on client sites, rebrand them, and charge for the work. The only thing we ask is that you do not resell the template itself as your own product.

Do I need paid SEO tools to use them?

No. Every template names the free tool that answers each step — Google Search Console, a free-tier crawler, autocomplete, People Also Ask. Paid platforms make some steps faster, but nothing in any template is gated behind a subscription.

Which template should I start with?

If you have inherited a site and do not know its condition, start with the SEO Audit Template — it tells you what is broken and what to fix first. If you already know the site is sound and need to decide what to target, start with the Keyword Research Template. If you know your targets and need to plan the work, start with the Content Planning Template. In practice most teams run them in that order.

How often do you add new templates?

We add them as we build them for our own client work, which means each one has been used in anger before it appears here. If there is something you want that is missing, reply to the email that comes with any download and tell us.

Want it done rather than DIY?

These exist because the work is genuinely doable in-house. If you would rather hand it to people who do it every week, that is the job.
